Prism Capital’s origin can be traced back to the UK stock market crash of 1987 when the consequent part-deconstruction of a then prominent FTSE 100 listed company provided a “once in a lifetime” opportunity for a team of seasoned asset finance professionals to acquire a large portfolio of equipment and lease rental receivables at a heavily discounted price.

The business thereafter embarked on a strategy of rapid organic expansion and the acquisition of a number of under-achieving competitors which fuelled 14 straight years of prolific corporate growth
and which earned the group FT  business accreditation in 1991 as one of the UK’s top 10 performing private companies.

In the years that followed, the group introduced an innovative range of asset financing products and diversified into discrete aviation, healthcare and public sector divisions. Following the worldwide
banking crisis in the last decade and the emerging prominence of the aviation division, an overhaul of the business heralded the re-branding and relocation to Dubai in 2010 of the two resultant core
businesses; Prism Aviation & Marine Capital and Prism Airline Investments.

As Prism Capital witnessed the threats to Dubai’s international recognition as a centre of best-practice and commercial integrity in the post-crisis years allied with the Scottish government’s stated
commitment in 2013 to meaningfully reduce the nation’s headline corporation tax rate, a board resolution to repatriate 3 of the division’s 4 companies back to the UK was inevitable and the move
was completed in September 2016. Despite the repatriation, Prism Capital continues to maintain branch offices in both Dubai & Singapore and will shortly commission representative facilities in
Dublin, Accra & Grand Cayman as the divisional companies continue to pursue their respective strategic plans.

Since being acquired by the business that is now PCM Investments & Securities (Dubai) in mid-2007, Prism Aviation & Marine Capital has facilitated the placement of 61 mainly single aisle regional
jet, business & turboprop aircraft, 6 executive helicopters and 2 coastal vessels on various financing terms by the end of 2016. Prism Airline Investments has arranged investments in 5 pre-IPO
developing airlines and aerospace companies in the same period whilst Prism Aviation Alpha Services continues to provide worldwide aid and support to most of the prominent start-up operators
around the globe.
